CONDITIONS D’UTILISATION

Last updated: 16 October 2026

1. About this website

The website www.dikeinternational.com is published by DIKÊ, operating under the name DIKÊ International, an association governed by the French Law of 1 July 1901.

Registered office: 38 rue des États-Généraux, 78000 Versailles, France
Contact:  contact@dikeinternational.com

These Terms describe the conditions for accessing and using the public website. They do not replace any separate agreement governing membership, donations, professional services or participation in an activity.

2. Purpose of the website

The website presents the association’s mission, members, areas of expertise, publications and activities relating to human rights, international humanitarian law, international criminal justice and the fight against impunity.

Its content is intended for general information, research and awareness.

DIKÊ International is an independent association. References to courts, universities, international organisations or other institutions do not imply their endorsement or a formal partnership unless expressly stated.

3. Information and legal advice

Website content does not constitute individual legal advice or a recommendation tailored to a particular case.

Reading a publication, using a contact form or corresponding with the association does not, by itself, create a lawyer–client relationship, establish a mandate or confirm that a matter has been accepted.

Contacting the association does not suspend or interrupt any procedural deadline or limitation period. Anyone requiring advice about a specific situation should consult an appropriately qualified professional.

4. Responsible use

You must use the website lawfully and respect the rights and safety of others.

In particular, you must not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, its systems or information.

  • Introduce malicious software or interfere with the website’s security or availability.

  • Use contact facilities to send threats, harassment, unlawful content or unsolicited advertising.

  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with an organisation.

  • Disclose personal or confidential information unlawfully.

  • Reuse website content in a misleading manner or falsely imply endorsement by the association.

5. Enquiries and submitted materials

Please ensure that information you submit is relevant and accurate to the best of your knowledge. Distinguish direct observations from opinions, assumptions or information received from others.

Before sharing documents, consider whether you are legally entitled to disclose them and whether they identify or expose another person to risk.

Sending information does not oblige the association to investigate, publish, intervene, provide representation or refer a matter to an authority.

Submission does not transfer ownership of your materials to the association or grant an unrestricted right to publish them. Their handling is subject to applicable law, the Privacy Policy and any specific arrangements agreed with you.

6. Sensitive information and urgent situations

Do not send sensitive testimony, confidential evidence or identifying information about vulnerable individuals through an ordinary website form without first contacting the association to arrange an appropriate transmission method.

Website forms and ordinary email should not be assumed to provide anonymity, absolute confidentiality or legal professional privilege.

The website is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency services or competent authorities.

7. Publications and the presumption of innocence

Publications should be read in light of their date, sources, purpose and any stated methodological limitations.

References to alleged violations, offences or responsibility do not constitute a judicial determination. The presumption of innocence applies.

The association endeavours to correct material inaccuracies brought to its attention. Requests for corrections or the exercise of a right of reply may be sent to [insert contact email], identifying the publication and the relevant passage.

8. Intellectual property

Website content—including texts, reports, photographs, graphics and logos—is protected by applicable intellectual property law where eligible for protection.

Rights belong to DIKÊ or the relevant rights holders. Third-party content remains subject to its own licence conditions.

Except where permitted by law or expressly authorised by a licence, reproduction, translation, adaptation or distribution requires prior permission from the relevant rights holder.

Lawful quotations must identify the author and source where required. Reuse must not distort the original meaning or suggest an endorsement that has not been given.

Linking to a publicly accessible page is permitted insofar as the link is lawful and does not misrepresent the relationship between your website and the association.

9. External links

Links to external websites are provided for information or convenience. The association does not control their content, availability or privacy practices.

A link does not, by itself, constitute endorsement of the linked website or its operator.

10. Availability and responsibility

The association takes reasonable steps to maintain the website and the accuracy of its content. However, uninterrupted access and the absence of all errors cannot be guaranteed.

Access may be temporarily restricted for maintenance, security or technical reasons. Content may be updated or removed where appropriate.

Any liability arising from use of the website is determined under applicable law. These Terms do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful.

11. Personal data and cookies

Personal data is processed as described in our Privacy Policy [insert link].

Information about cookies and similar technologies is available in our Cookie Policy [insert link]. Choices can be managed through Cookie Settings [insert working link].

Using the website does not, by itself, constitute consent to optional cookies or other processing requiring consent.

12. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated to reflect changes to the website, the association’s activities or applicable requirements.

The current version is published on this page with its revision date. Changes do not apply retroactively. Where a change requires notice or express agreement under applicable law, the relevant procedure will be followed.

13. Applicable law and disputes

These Terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to any mandatory protections applicable to the user.

If a concern arises, you may contact the association to seek an amicable resolution. This does not prevent you from exercising your rights or bringing proceedings.

Jurisdiction is determined by the applicable rules of procedure. Nothing in these Terms requires users to submit exclusively to the courts of Versailles.
